Tower of Terror’s summer effects end Saturday Fri, 13 Aug 2010 Friday the 13th brings to mind the Tower of Terror… Saturday offers the last chance for guests to experience the Summer Nightastic! version of the Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Nightastic! events, including the Studios dance party and the special fireworks at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, end Saturday night. The Rock N Glow Dance Party, which takes place at the Sorcerer’s Hat, will be at 4, 5 and 6 p.m. today (Friday) and Saturday. I was of two minds about the Tower of Terror summer revamp, which involved projecting photos of riders. (The photos drive home the ride’s narration: “A warm welcome back … to those of you who made it.) Though the photo effect was cool, the changes made to the final hallway before the ride’s drop were disappointing. The entire “Twilight Zone” dimension feel of that hallway was replaced with generic darkness and stars. Those changes might have been necessary for the projections, but I can’t wait to see the familiar clocks and mirrors again.
